As you probably know, there is a large variety of CBD methods. Essentially, there are three ways to use CBD: topicals, edibles, smoking/ vaping.
At Lily + Rein, we don’t offer CBD bud that can be used for smoking or vaping, but if that is a method that you would prefer, there are plenty of retailers and brands that sell the materials needed for it!
Edibles typically come in two forms: an oil or something you digest (i.e. gummies, chocolate, brownie, etc.). When digesting CBD, it usually takes a bit longer to feel the benefits due to the gummy needing to break down and go through our digestive system. With these kind of edibles, you’ll experience a slow release, which can be ideal for someone who needs a pick-me-up in the morning or help relaxing at night. Oils, on the other hand, are much more versatile. Tinctures are the most common way to use your oils, accompanied with a dropper to measure. If taken sublingually (under the tongue) the CBD is absorbed much quicker. However, you can easily mix the oil into drinks or food, giving the CBD the same slow-release effects as eating a gummy does.
Topicals are good for gaining localized relief. If you’re an athlete or go to the gym frequently, topical CBD could help ease any soreness or chronic issues that you struggle with. There are balms, lotions, and even bath bombs that give you the benefits of CBD from your skin. We have an article explaining the different ways that CBD can be absorbed, check it out if you’re interested!
In terms of finding out which one is for you, the best answer we can give is to ask yourself what you’re looking for. Are you dealing with pain in a specific spot? Do you keep feeling over-whelmed on a daily basis? Do you want versatility or something that’s more of a no-brainer? Asking yourself these questions will help guide you to the right method. We always recommend having patience; CBD is a journey of discovery. You’ll learn more about yourself, your body, and what best suits you for your overall health and wellbeing.
